Spiritual Direction
Hi, I'm Christine
I’m an artist and spiritual director located in Orange County, California. In addition to my photographic practice, I am a spiritual director with a private practice where I’ve worked with people just like you for over 10-years.
I have a MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Biola University, where I received my spiritual director training. I also hold a MFA in Visual Art from Azusa Pacific University. In addition to coffee, puppies, and old cars, I also love writing things.
I believe that questions are often the answer in photography and in life. Asking questions is my super power, and I love to see how this translates in my work with others as a spiritual director.
What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is the practice of exploring where God is inviting you in the midst of your life through 1:1 conversations. It is a space of holy listening. As an artist that also means discovering where God is in the midst of your making.
While spiritual direction and therapy share some similarities, direction is not therapy. Each practice has their own timing in place in a person's life. Direction is a place to get curious about and explore where God is inviting you in your life and practice, through your current circumstances. It is not a place for mental health crisis intervention or support. Many clients utilize both therapy and spiritual direction together.
How does a Spiritual Direction session work?
My approach is to help you notice and explore God’s presence in your life and practice by asking questions, offering reflections, and using guided visual prayer practices in a safe and confidential (digital) space.
Sessions are scheduled monthly, are 45-minutes, and meet via Zoom.
